Money given to this work is not ours. It is entrusted to us, and we handle it accordingly — carefully, deliberately, and with records we are willing to show.
We keep our operations lean.
The less we spend on ourselves, the more reaches the work. That is a discipline we intend to hold as we grow, not a phase we pass through.
We use gifts for the mission our donors intend.
When you give toward something specific, it goes there. If we ever cannot use a designated gift as intended, we will come back to you rather than quietly redirect it.
We tell the truth about our finances.
Including when the answer is incomplete or unflattering. You will not find rounded-up claims or figures we cannot substantiate on this page.
Governed, not owned.
Known For is an independent nonprofit organization, EIN 42-4151114, governed by a board of directors that provides oversight and accountability.
We maintain a conflict-of-interest policy. Known For operates independently, with its own board and its own finances, from any related for-profit work.
Known For has applied for recognition as a 501(c)(3) organization. Please consult your tax advisor regarding deductibility.

The standards we hold ourselves to.
We hold ourselves to recognized standards for nonprofit financial accountability, governance, and donor transparency, whether or not anyone is checking.
We will not display a seal, badge, or membership claim here until we have genuinely earned it, including any we expect to receive.
We never sell or trade donor information. Ever.
What you share is used only to process your gift, send your receipt, and keep you updated if you ask. See our Donor Privacy Policy.
